How does the free tier work?

Halopen Free is 8,000 words of dictation per calendar month, forever. No credit card to download, no expiry timer. The counter resets on the first of each month. Hit the ceiling and the app gently asks you to upgrade — that's the moment you'll know whether it earned its keep.

Can I switch plans?

Yes. Switch from Monthly to Annual in-app and you are credited the unused portion of the monthly charge. Switch from Annual to Monthly at the next renewal.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep Pro through the end of the period you paid for. After that, the app reverts to the free tier (8,000 words / month) — nothing is deleted, you just go back to the way it was before you upgraded.

Educational pricing?

Yes — manually for now. Email us from your .edu address and we will send you a 50%-off code, valid on Monthly or Annual. Student rates will be automated when we can verify institutional emails at scale; until then, the manual path is open and active.

Refunds?

Yes — within 14 days of purchase, no questions, by emailing [email protected]. Refunds reverse the Stripe charge and revert your account to free.
